Hello from bangkok...cant believe we are here. Finally in a city that appears in the weather news in Cnn and BBC...finally in the hub of south east asia... It feels awkward to be here and have crossed the border. We have had a 7 hour trip. The border crossing took 1.5 hour but we finally made it. ONce we crossed i thought i was in another planet..it seemed like we were in a first world country. ANd that is mainly cuz the road from Battambang to Poipet (cambodian border city near thailand) was an awfull road. After crossing we took a miniban and the highway was amazing....all paved!!! No dust!! No crazy driving!!!no honing! Finally after 4 hours we entered this imense city. It seemed as if we were entering barcelona. Full of highways lights, lights in the highway!! And huge adds....Its hard to believe that Laos and Cambodia are sooo close and yet sooo different. That we have "left" all those people behind and those cities...just awkward. Specially awkward since we are in KohSanRoad the backpacker sanctuary of Thailand. This is a street made for backpackers. I think thats all ive seen since i have arrived in this area...in a way really horrible. Its like vang vieng in Laos or Lake side in Phom Penh cambodia....

IN our last nightin battambang we went to see a pagoda...it was closed but full of monks who were looking at them. We ended up sitting with them and chating with them for a good 30 minutes..they were so nice and open..some were really shy..just wanted to practice their english. They told us to join them in their praying so we were invited into the temple to see how they preid....

Tommorrow a day of shopping and to urism in bangkok and then heading to singapore!!!! I so want to go back to cambodia and laos..but i know that when time comes to choose a destination i always choose a place that i havent been :(

INternet credit ending!!!!!
